Service Description

Wet cupping involves applying suction to the skin and then creating small incisions using a surgical blade. This is thought to remove toxins and 'bad blood' and increase blood flow to targeted areas. Cupping typically leaves round bruises on a person’s skin, where their blood vessels burst after exposure to the procedure’s suction effects. The incisions created on the skin are superficial and do not bleed until suction is applied. There should be very minimal discomfort during the process;. The incision marks should reduce significantly within 3-10 days and cause no permanent scarring- Again, this depends on your skin, its healing ability and how well you follow the advice provided. The scars are no longer than 2cm in length. Blood loss is dependent upon the client. The aim of wet cupping is not to bleed the client rather, it is to promote blood flow and increase the production of new red blood cells. Cupping also promotes the tissues to release toxins. Wet cupping is NOT the same as blood letting, and our expert therapist will monitor the volume of blood lost throughout the treatment. Sessions may last between 45-60 minutes, depending upon the client.
